    And in the good old days you had to sit an oral board , with no appeal for failure and no set time ......... My first one was radio and lasted about 4 1/2 hrs ......oh yes the good old days !!!!!!!!!

    4.5 hours talking diodes and transistors....

    Of course, with Communications, Navigation and Radar, guess it was a big field to cover.

    4.5 hours watching my tea go cold whilst talking over the intricacies of fitting antennae onto unapproved airframes, deep joy.

    The "wireless" had only just been invented when Tim did his so he only had to talk about crystals and 'tuning for maximum smoke......

    In the good old days we had monkeys to do the dirty jobs , they were called either apprentices or A&C's !!!!!!!

    We weren't allowed call ours monkeys as it was deemed highly offensive to real monkeys, we used to just call our monkeys 'grubbers' but we still fed them bananas and nuts and they still picked at their arses while they sat around waiting to be told what to do next.....
