    Default LRTT or AST?

    Hi everyone,

This is my first time, please be gentle!

I'm going to be leaving the RAF next year and I want to study for my B1 licence. I had planned to go to AST for their zero-to-hero course but a friend recently told me about LRTT's course and now I'm not sure which to go for.

I would appreciate your expert opinions on how they measure up to each other. Is one a better place to study in terms of tuition standard, overall experience and reputation within the industry?

When I leave I'll have done 12 years, having worked on fixed wing and rotary. I've got some module notes already that will hopefully prepare me for the intensive nature of the courses. I'm planning on using my Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) so the cost is not a major factor in deciding where I go; I would rather pay a bit more and get a better course than be disapointed just to save a few pounds.

Hopefully that's enough info, if not just ask.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Welcome!

As both these colleges advertise here, it might be inappropriate to show favour with one or the other.

I know both produce the goods.

Personally, I'd prefer to be near Cirencester and surrounds for the shopping and pretty shops/locations, although I have had some fairly wild nights in Perth and surrounds over the years, 'nuff said.

I guess that's no reason to choose one or the other!

I've no experience of AST, but plenty with LRRT.

You won't go far wrong with them.
System tested no fault found Doo dah, doo dah.

Helicopters are a collection of parts flying in relatively close formation while all rotating around different axis. This arrangement works work well until one of the parts breaks formation.
