    I wouldn't bother putting AV on an android, just be careful to install only mainstream apps.

    I use that myself on my machines, it already comes as part of MS Defender on W8 so I'm going to just leave it....

    good for threat removal, there is another but the over 50 firewall has blocked that for the moment

    MS Security Essentials seems to work without interference.
    Avast slows down my laptop something chronic.

    CCleaner and Malwarebytes do a good job.

    Have to agree with all the votes for Security Esentials, seems like Murkyshaft did something good for a change.
    I install it on all the PC and lappy's I build/rebuild, but I use Avira (paid for) on my own machine for now because I bought a 3 year licence for it.
    Maybe I'll change over late next year when my licence runs out, but for now it's working fine for me and doesn't seem to have any of the problems other programs do, time will tell.
