    Default Woodford unplugged

    Went past the old Avro site today, sad view looking through the gates now.
    The whole of "Top Shop" has been demolished, you can see straight into the "Canteen". Can't quite make out what's for lunch today!!!

    It's to blame for getting me into aviation in the "70's
    Sad to see its demise. Victors Vulcans Nimrods, not to mention Lancaster's and Shacks, and more

    Happy days.

    Has that shut down Bramhall as well.......?

    With the well paid footballers who live round here and the plans to build 1000 house's on the site...don't think so.

    Similary stoy over at BAE Brough, then named Hawker Siddeley from 6000 to when I started as an appentice in the mid 70īs to what I beleive today approx 600..........saying that glad I left mid 80īs a ventured into the big bad world.
    Still in touch with some smashing lads I worked with there.

    Was there in 2000 repairing ex-SAM Colombia RJ wings,that canteen was top notch,used to have a massive lunch then back to my desk for a kip for a couple of hours.
