    Cool Footie Gists

The new 2016~17 season has suffered its 1st managerial casualty even before the 1st match is played.

Wolverhampton Wanderers were bought by Chinese conglomerate Fosun International for 45m on 21 July 2016. They met and promised Manager Kenny Jackett that his job was safe. Barely eight days later, the Chinese Director Jeff Shi was announcing the appointment of former Italy international Walter Zenga as their new head coach. Director Jeff Shi said Zenga's aim is "promotion to the Premier League".

Meanwhile, a smart commentator has suggested that perhaps the Chinese thought they were getting Arsene Wenger..

West Ham enjoyed a good house warming party on Thursday night as they saw off Slovenian team NK Domzale 3-0 in the Europa League qualifier played at their new home which has been renamed London Stadium.

BBC News: Newcastle United's opening-night 1-0 defeat by Fulham was a Championship "wake-up call", says manager Rafael Benitez.
Yeah. Although the Toons have lost key men from the stock that got relegated, they're still a big side to gun for an immediate return to the EPL.

Leicester have a pick of company cars to use as long as blue and BMW badged.

All the three teams promoted from League One, Burton, Barnsley & Wigan played away fixtures today in the Championship and all three lost their opening matches today. Norwich, relegated from the EPL, were also away at Blackburn where they made an emphatic statement of intent winning by 4-1.
