I used to have to explain to some old and bold ex-RAF guys that we don't use Pozidrive screwdrivers on aircraft screws. It appears that the blue-handled Stanley drivers were not obvious enough compared the red ones. Nowadays, they simply make them all black and print PZ on the side, so chance of a mix-up there.

Many French Airbus/Eurocopter aircraft are metric harware, I guess this might just be the helicopter world. The Italian/UK Agusta Westland AW helicopters use imperial, even the AW189 APU (eAPU60) has imperial nuts and bolts on it, Safran in France (who make it) must have had a heart attack when reading the spec as it is the only non-metric APU they manufacture. Imagine re-tooling their production line for just one product.

With metric aircraft being modified post manufacture, it is not unusual for those modifications to use USA manufactured NAS/MS/AN hardware as it is readily available and a fraction of the metric equivalent. That also goes to terminal blocks, wiring and associated hardware.

You need to know your stuff when dealing with older modified aircraft, otherwise, it lead to mistakes a plenty.
