Now I wonder what that spare 2m went on, nicer lounge facilities for pax - nope, still the same. Nice new car park - nope, still got the same pot holes it had from years ago. In fact the only improvement I can see is the closing of the toilets on the arrivals exit, they moved the door to the arrivals area rather than the public area. Is that an improvement?

What Norwich should do is pay for some customer facing training to be delivered to their baggage security staff who are (generally) the most obnoxious I have ever come across, and that includes all the international airports I travel through, including those in Africa. Only once did I find the security staff at Norwich to be both upbeat, and job-minded. Two younger guys who were enjoying their job, getting along with customers and a wholly pleasant experience. Normally it is pants, not a smile in sight, 'assume the position'. You have been warned.

They may do other areas of CP security as well. I would concur with your general assessment of the Adolfs. Most are raving Brexiteers as well. I do get on with some better that others (whom are as miserable as sin and as obnoxious to people they know as to QAMs they don't know)

I've not had to fly through NQY so far, so I was unaware they'd stopped the 5 fee, nice update Lowfat.

Apparently, they removed the fee after Ryanair cancelled their routes to/from NQY (quoting the fee as one of the reasons), once the fee was cancelled, Ryanair restarted their services in Oct 2016.

I have to pay another one of these fees in a couple of days, it will be another unpleasant experience coupled with the worst security staff in the business. Deep joy.
