Spot on Smokey, this incident seems to be just one example of an ad-hoc engineering attitude towards approved compliance. He (my buddy) mentioned that the other aircraft he worked on also did nt follow wiring drawings, so his initial example was not isolated - which is why he walked - he got another job straight away, so he's a little wiser after this experience.

Outsourcing to a third party MRO with questionable profit motives. Amazing what yo see working in two different MROs in the same company. I saw expreicnced LAEs walking out of offices saying "I will not do that!" to guys of the same satus as their home base, but in charge. Gashness is not just an overseas thing.

I think they depend on people going through CHIRP. My complaint directly to the CA met a dead end, I was even pushing for feed back but was only told that they had checked the company and everything was in order. I asked them to get back to me before taking any action as I wanted to tell them what to look for but they did it their way.
There was an eventual crash, one dead. I queried the report after doing a lot of research requested a review but it was not granted.

I lost all faith in the CAA and the AAIB!

The anonymity provided by CHIRP is useful. The way you went about contacting the CAA directly and even wishing to guide them would have raised alarm bells in their minds to classify you as someone with a hidden agenda.
