4 to 6 weeks...... are you for real ??

The whole section has been distorted at least 10 to 15 degrees off the perpendicular, there is bound to be considerable damage to the firewall area and all the APU mounts etc.
The APU alone is going to be a scrap item after an impact like that, and gawd knows what damage has been done to the structure of the stab bay, if there's enough distortion in there a 22 year old a/c is most certainly beyond economic repair.

After a survey, Scarebus will take more than double the 4 to 6 weeks just to issue a repair scheme, if they even approve one, and the paperwork alone is going to be more than a million dollars at their rates.

Plus, €100M aircraft......... they're $90M new, so at 22 years old with a hammered live doing short hop flights, and a very expensive repair needed to put it back in the air....... I reckon they should hang some lights and tinsel all over it, cos that feckers got "christmas tree" written all over its future !

BTW, word from the ground there is that they estimate 6 months minimum to get it sorted, plus, it was 2 days away from a big check that will cost megabucks as well....... that would all have to be done on site now instead of sending it to the cheapos at Malta, as it'll never get a cert to fly there in that condition !
