Job Title: Apprenticeships in Engineering (Permanent)
Location: Derby
Salary: Undisclosed
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Permanent

Description: Reduced noise. A smaller carbon footprint. Better
fuel efficiency. Our latest engine technology
promises to achieve some extraordinary feats. To
build components that are powerful, durable and
lightweight enough, however, takes a great deal of
expertise. Care to learn it for yourself? As a
Rolls-Royce Apprentice, you'll be paid while you
study towards professional qualifications in the
classroom - and put the skills you learn into
practice, on real life engines, working alongside
some of the greatest engineers in the field.
Trusted to deliver excellence Rolls-Royce
Engineers We have some of the most exciting
projects for engineers around. They provide
solutions across the challenging civil aerospace,
defence aerospace, energy and marine markets. This
could be anything from building quieter, more
fuel-efficient jet engines, to developing new
marine technology that could change ship
propulsion forever. Whatever their project, our
engineers always make the most of every challenge.
Your Apprenticeship If you're interested in
engineering and want to see your studies come to
life - our engineering apprenticeship could be the
perfect place for you. Here, you'll work alongside
some of the finest engineers in the field to
develop your skills and gain qualifications in
high demand. But don't think it's an easy option.
This apprenticeship is designed to challenge,
stretch and develop you to your full potential.
For three and a half years you'll be paid while
you study a range of topics in the classroom and
get your hands dirty putting what you've learnt
into practice while working. Practical
orTechnical? If you're the kind of person who
loves getting to grips with things, amore
practical role is most likely right for you. But
if you're more interested in how machines work as
a whole - and how they're designed - then a
technical role is probably the one for you. Either
way, you'll have the opportunity to build a career
with a global company that's renowned for
excellence in everything it does. To find out more
come along to our Apprentice Open Evening or apply
online at rolls-royce.com/apprentices and check
the website for closing dates. "Here I get to see
the whole picture rather than concentrating on one
small project." Ian "The most enjoyable aspect of
my apprenticeship in turbine systems is the broad
knowledge of engineering I've gained. I started
learning engineering skills and then specialised
in maintenance of machinery. I'm now doing my
foundation degree in mechanical engineering. Along
the way I've also been able to get involved with
school projects and help the local community as
well. The apprenticeship is an excellent
opportunity and will lead to many new ones in the
future. It's a great way to learn because it's
tailored to your own needs and you're earning a
wage as well. Rolls-Royce has all the resources
for you to become what you want to become." "I
applied here because the programme was the best
within the industry." Amie "My apprenticeship in
civil aerospace has offered me hands on experience
and funds my further education up to degree level.
I'm currently doing a BTEC national in
manufacturing engineering. My attachments change
every three months so my people skills have
developed. With this new confidence, I've helped
plan a German student exchange and I've completed
engineering drawing courses as well as one for
Safe Driving Awareness. If you're thinking of
joining Rolls-Royce, do it. It's a fantastic way
of gaining a qualification with extensive support
and guidance along the way. You'll get first-class
training and gain a wealth of knowledge that's far
more valuable than anything a textbook can teach."
