just a question but, out of all those programmes, how many were in the same life and death league as SAR-H?

stonehenge visitors centre?? the A14 widening? Libraries Modernisation Programme?

North Tees and Hartlepool hospital: £450m. the 26 a/c purchase price will be less than that and will benefit the whole country.

the Aberdeen ring road has been delayed for how long now? noone has died yet as a consequence have they?

But the SAR contract is a big headline grabbing saving of [B]4.6 billion pounds[B] and the existing fleet will just be pushed even farther to keep providing the cover they already have. How old were the Wessex's when they finally fell out of the sky in a pile of corroded mag-alloy? The existing fleet of Sea kings will just be operated until they drop.

Perhaps they could merge the Stonehenge project with the helicopter procurement project seeing as they're so closely related.....?
